Have been waiting for the GREEN light to choose our track days for the year as OPI has first choice on weekends and I finally received an email. Our track days will be July 7th and 8th along with August 18th. Pricing is still up in the air as we have had issues in the past with people not showing, but I imagine it will be the same as long as our rental and insurance didnt go up.

    just got my boost gauge in the mail today and was wondering where i splice the vacuum line? i read somewhere that you can do it off the BOV line but i want to check and find out for sure before i go cutting hoses.

    Correcto you can put a T-fitting into the hose coming off of the BPV. there is another place that is supposed to be more accurate, but I forget where it was.

    Does it display boost and vacuum? They always tell you to splice into the FPR but I don't like that idea, the FPR is best having its own dedicated line. You can use anyline that is connected to the intake manifold after the throttle body. Usually the BOV line is connected in this way. A lot of throttle bodies will have a few ports that pull a source from after the throttle plate. This way you are getting both vacuum and boost. If its boost only it really doesn't matter as when you are in boost anything from the piping to the intake mani is seeing boost. Still for the best source try and pull it from the intake mani and avoid T's if possible.

    I will have Luke chime in on this one. He bought a vacuum block from IXIZ Concept or something like that and it has move vacuum connections than you know what to do with. It was around $60, CNC machined and anodized. It is a very sweet piece.

    The other more accurate place can give your gauge the jitters if my memory serves me right. I think it's somewhere off the manifold around the alternator. BPV location should work well enough. Smile

    ok so i got the mechanical part of this done today and it works just like it should! cheers
    the only thing stopping me from finishing it is my lack of electrical knowledge. the gauge has three wires coming off of it. power, ground, and another. i cant remember what it was called but i cant seem to figure it out. the gauge just stays lit up even when the car is turned off. any info as to where i need to hook these wires up will be greatly appreciated!

    Sounds like you have the wire for the light hooked to constant 12V power. You need to wire that into the light circuit. You can usually pull this source from things like the cigarette lighter light or any other interior lights.

    It just needs power and ground. Mine is spliced into my dash clock wiring harness. The three wires are on your gauge are red=power black=ground white=lights. Splice the white wire into a dimmer if you can such as a light swicth. You can also splice the white wire into your ingnition but the backlight on the guage will constanly be on while the car is running. The easiest and fastst way to hook these wires up is to splice into your stereo's power, ground, and ignition. I can show you if you want. Goodluck!!!

    You need a wire running from the gauge to something that is only on when the car is powered on, like the power wire for your CD deck or something along those lines, then you need the wire that controls the light on the gauge preferably hooked up to the same wire that gets power when you turn on your headlights. That way your gauge will only light up when the headlights are on....at night. It wouldn't be a great idea to wire it directly to the battery. I tapped into the cigarette lighter wire on mine.

    so the red power i can splice to the radio power? and the orange to the headlights? the gauge is a tinted gauge tho so the backlight needs to be on even when the headlights arent on. my car is currently getting a tranny seal changed so i cant work on it right now but if someone wants to come show the noob how to get this done when i get it back that would be awesome. 8504264

    You need one +12V when the ignition is on, one to the light circuit and one to a ground. Obviously the black is probably the ground. The IGN +12v needs to only be on when the key is in the ACC and On position. I would guess this would be the red wire. And the orange to the lights. Don't hook it to the actual head light wiring as they run a lot of current through them. Use the clock, radio or cigarette lighter light. If you need help I can walk you through using a volt meter to find the wires you need. If the Red wire was hooked to the battery that is why it never turned off, this would also cause parasitic drag if left this way.

    Seems like everyone is getting vacuum dist. blocks these days, I'm glad I only have 3 vacuum hoses on my whole car and more ports than that without any of that Distribution stuff. If you need a Distribution block though Full-Race sells them or so does Golden Eagle.

    well i got it installed tonight. really wasnt as hard as i was making it out to be! I didnt want to drill any holes in the A pillar so i just need to pick up some wire loom tomorrow to dress it up a bit
