Have been waiting for the GREEN light to choose our track days for the year as OPI has first choice on weekends and I finally received an email. Our track days will be July 7th and 8th along with August 18th. Pricing is still up in the air as we have had issues in the past with people not showing, but I imagine it will be the same as long as our rental and insurance didnt go up.

PostSubject: Cam gear tuning   November 18th 2009, 3:49 pm

Anyone around here do much with tuning their cam timing? Anyone have a degree wheel? I think this winter I am going to degree my cams and make some more changes to test on the dyno. I had my cam timing setup to try and hold tq as long as possible but since I probably won't drag race any more I am going to dial in the best spool and quickest tq I can get. I think I should be able to get 18 psi on the 3076 around 3600-3800 rpm's even with my big cams. If not I may end up going back to smaller cams. I'd love to hear what changes anyone has made and what the results where.

My plan is to work my way to around +4 intake -3 exhuast and see what each changes does. Too bad I have to pull the valve cover to make the changes. If I have the time and money I will do each cam one degree then the other cam to try and make the best curve. I am not so worried about getting every bit of top end since I already can't handle what I do have.

I may take you up on that. I almost bought one a few times since this is my 3rd set of cams for this car. I need to look around and see if I can find my cam card. Either way thanks for the offer.

Yeah there is a ton of info, I learned a lot from reading and doing research on cam timing. Unfortunately I don't have that car anymore to play with.
