Have been waiting for the GREEN light to choose our track days for the year as OPI has first choice on weekends and I finally received an email. Our track days will be July 7th and 8th along with August 18th. Pricing is still up in the air as we have had issues in the past with people not showing, but I imagine it will be the same as long as our rental and insurance didnt go up.

What do you need help with? Do you have a multi-meter? They help a ton. It's way easier than you think.

You are prolly right about it being easier than we think. I dont know what a multi-meter is which means i prolly dont have one of those. the gauges did come with instructions but are very vague and they assume you know every little detail about the car (which we dont...at least not yet). we would love to have some general advise on how or what others had to do when they installed gauges of the same type in their cars. That would help the best.

"A multimeter or a multitester, also known as a volt/ohm meter or VOM, is an electronic measuring instrument that combines several measurement functions in one unit. A typical multimeter may include features such as the ability to measure voltage, current and resistance." I copied that off wikipedia. lol!
Try and find some DIY on Nasioc or WRXmodders. It is harder to explain then just to do it.

Well depending on how you want to hook it up you will need to gain access to the oil for the sender units.

There are a couple options. An oil filter sandwich adapter that allows you to tap into the oil flow with sensors.. (it installs inline with the oil filter) or a couple oil galley plugs. The galley plugs would have to go on top of the block near the throttle body, and there is also another spot near the alternator. You will have to use both as you have two gauges with two sender units, one for temp, and one for pressure.

Sandwich adapter. Keep in mind these are occasionally problematic and can leak if not installed properly. (need to use teflon tape on the sender units etc etc.)

    Galley plugs:

Other than that you just have to do wiring.

I've gone with the sandwich adaptors the last four times I've installed oil pressure and temp gauges.

The wiring is pretty easy too. Do you have a aftermarket headunit? If so, the proper wires are easy to find. If the gauges are electric and not mechanical all you'll need is a "switch-power/acc power" or a power that comes on when the car comes on. You'll also need to find a light power wire for the illumination.

I would suggest using the forums and internet as well... someone probably has a write-up somewhere about this. If you've having a ton of problems pm me and I can walk you through it. -Nels
