Cant speak about wheeling spots in Billings seing as how Im in Missoula. There are a few spots around here to wheel and around Butte although. As for the title of the topic, I have a 1999 GMC Sierra lifted 9 inches. Heavily modified.

I am working on a 1978 Chevorlet K10 Scottsdale 4WD 4spd...... It will be lifted 4 inches sitting on some 33x12.5R15 GOODYEAR Wranglers and have 3/4 ton or 1 ton dana axle conversion and maybe I four see a big block in the near future after my lil honda is all turboed lol.... Any suggestions to improve my truck I am game to hear em from you Todd.....

Well we first need to start from the begining. I dont know what your ultimate goal with the truck is, and what you already have for it/done to it. One thing I can say, depending on your goals, dont waste your time with a 4 inch lift. If you are going to dive in, spend the hundred or slightly more and get the 6 inch. You'll be happier in the end, again given your goals.

Haha I know reading that seems counter productive, but I have reason behind it. Trying to say, that we need to take into account the plan for the truck, and to make sure he has definete goals with it. Otherwise if hes just going for a lifted truck in general, dont waste your time with the 4. I have had a lot of customers and friends say they wish they would have just gone with the 6 inch instead, only after having had a 4 installed.

Ok well I am buildin a truck that will get me in tight spots hunting..... Some mud bogging will be in order..... Last of all most of all i want to make it a sick trail rig mostly like with off road lights winches and all that good stuff 3/4 ton or one ton axles the works i want a bullet proof trail truck mostly!

I definetely agree with you Jason. I have a feeling that if you were to run the 33s for a while and start wheeling, you are going to want more clearance and more bite....which will come from a larger tire. When you look at competitive trail rigs or just very avid weekend warriors the norm is 35-37 inch tires. Also when you go to swap the axles, get the entire set up. Drivelines, springs and steering linkage, and wheels! 3/4-1 ton use 8 lug vs the 1/2 ton that uses 6 lug. Swapping the axles is going to reguire the drivelines to be rebuilt regardless cause they require a different ujoint then the 1/2 ton. In regards to the lift, which ever way you go ( I def. recommend at least 6 with your goals) spend the extra coin and go with full lift springs in the back or a spring shackle combo. Blocks will get the truck sitting where you want it....but leave much to be desired when you go to wheel with them.
