 | Subject: Center caps, painting rotors, pinstriping wheels? May 4th 2010, 11:13 am | |
| I need center caps for my wheels, and they are very difficult and expensive to find. Is there anyone out there who can make center caps? I can paint them, no problem. The wheels are an older, racing version of Team Dynamics F-series wheels. Center caps are missing because originally the wheels had been used for racing only.
Also, are there any DIYs on how to paint rotors?
And finally: I'm thinking about pin stripping the wheels. They are black, 12-spoke wheels. I've got a silver car, but am thinking about buying a blue WRX wagon. The red pinstripe would look good, but has anyone seen a blue pinstripe on a blue car? If so, how did it look? I can't find any pics on the Net. |

| For Center caps cut the bottom of a pop can out. Trim to the right size, paint and pop them in. I've seen tons of people do that and they look good. I prefer no center caps and if you plan on racing a lot of sanctioning bodies don't allow center caps, just an FYI in case you wanna race. _________________ Team Sprock

| Are they the center caps held on by a single allen screw? I used to have a set of team dynamics 5 years ago and loved them, minus the weight of course, they were about 20lbs apiece. _________________ Michael Card - Site Administator |

| Don't know how they are held on. I've never had any. But suspect they use the usual plastic clips. Good idea about pop cans.
I don't know what these weigh, but they are lighter than most. Certainly a lot lighter than my Sekudo wheels.
I'd love to race. Can't afford it. And besides, driving around cones in a parking lot is not my idea of racing. We need to go out into the middle of the Big Open and put together a 250 mile rally that never gets off gravel. |
